If you follow essential oils like I do then your attendance at the latest essential oil fragrance expo was a dream come true! Walking through aisles with botanical aromas is thrilling; just finding new fragrance innovations is exciting. There was also a lot of exciting news relating to the rise of natural, essential oil-based fragrances in the wellness and beauty industries. Plus, I was excited to see what HBNO, as well as other brands focused on sustainable, high-quality oils they offer, had up their sleeves this month.
At these expos, you have that special view on the future of fragrances — traditional blends and creative storage solutions. In this blog, I’m sharing my absolute favs from the expo (with the hope that HBNO’s newest offerings will inspire you to refresh your must-haves!)
Exploring the Hottest Trends in Essential Oil Fragrances
The expo featured not only amazing new fragrance trends, but all centered around sustainability, innovation, and personal expression. Nearly every booth revolved around plant-based scents, with one-of-a-kind concoctions that made me doubt my relationship with scent. And if I were to pair HBNO’s frankincense with a sharp crispness of eucalyptus, it wouldn’t be invigorating but rather invigorating yet grounding.
I saw also a tendency for bolder and more unusual blends. The combination of the surprisingly subtle smokiness of myrrh (there’s very little of that in the fragrance, so don’t be scared off by the name) and the vibrancy of orange essential oil seemed just right for a refreshing blast of uplifting scents. And everywhere were these kinds of unexpected combinations, inspiring me to try out fresh blends with HBNO’s oils at home.
Notable New Launches: Essential Oils and Fragrance Lines by HBNO
The expo was a sensory delight for HBNO’s booth. The classic and new oils were on display to demonstrate the many ways essential oils lend themselves to creating customized fragrance experiences. These refreshing eucalyptus, calming sandalwood, and sweet orange oils all made great choices for creating balanced, layered fragrances.
When I sampled HBNO’s tea tree oil, I realized how powerful this scent can be when paired with resinous oils like frankincense. Its combination produces a full-bodied aroma that is perfect for its purpose in evening wind-downs or even in the morning to start your day with a clear mind.
Among the HBNO releases that stayed quite solid was a blend of peppermint and sandalwood, because you would think these would be opposites, but they go so well with each other. The sandalwood and peppermint mix was cool like peppermint candy and warm like sunbathing, giving the modern twist on aromatherapy an atmosphere that feels unique and grounding.
Innovative Packaging and Storage Solutions for Essential Oils
The creative packaging designed to keep essential oil quality was a major highlight of the expo. Since it’s such a focus on the longevity of scents, it’s not a stretch to see why more companies have been incorporating UV protective bottles, air-tight closures, and eco-friendly material to keep their oils potent.
There was a use of dark glass bottles that ensure that any oils they contain are safe from light exposure. The expo reminded me that how far an oil travels, how it’s packaged, and the time spent on the shelf before initial use can all play a part in an oil’s taste and freshness. I also learned a few tips about how to better store my oils at home–like using gorgeous wooden display cases that avoid sunlight and allow me to have my HBNO looking organized and nice.
As a true obsessed oils fanatic, these innovations are a great reminder to check how you’re storing your oils, because I’ll admit I’m one of those people who don’t make the double-check. But how long your favorite HBNO scents stay as fresh as you first opened them is down to proper storage.
Industry Insights: What’s Next in Essential Oil Fragrance?
A few interesting futures for essential oil fragrances were teased by the keynote speakers. One theme that was on everyone’s lips was personalization, with people talking about how customers are going to want to be able to mix and match oils to make their scents that are as unique as they are. Given that trend, it’s even more exciting to think that HBNO’s oils are so versatile, allowing you to layer everything from bright citrus notes to deeper, earthy scents to get a uniquely tailored experience.
The push for eco-friendly sourcing and transparency was another interesting insight. Plus we’re seeing more brands like HBNO sharing the details around their sourcing process, which is precisely on par with the increasing demand for ethical and natural fragrances. At home, I can’t wait to experiment with making my personalized blends, mixing HBNO’s refreshing eucalyptus with the warm richness of frankincense, or the delicious lime.
I was buzzing in excitement at all this coming up in the world of oils and can’t wait to explore more of HBNO’s collection to add to mine.
